The Pawington is excited to meet you and your dog or cat and ensure that they enjoy their vacation as much as you enjoy yours! We built The Pawington to give or clients the peace of mind to be able to let go of any worry and truly enjoy their time away. Whether that is through checking our webcams while your pup plays with their friends at our signature Lake Play Area, The Pawington has everything you need to be able to relax during your trip!
All new canine Pet Guests must first have an evaluation or “Temperament Test” in order to Board or attend Daycare at The Pawington. This is a 10-20 minute process of introducing your dog to our staff and then other similar dogs to figure out their temperament, play style and activity level. This is to ensure your pet is safe for our Pet Handlers to be around. It is also to see if they can participate in Group Daycare while boarding, as boarding includes complimentary Daycare. We like to call it All-Inclusive Boarding.
Don’t worry! If a Group Daycare setting is not for them, they can still attend The Pawington’s Daystay program of 1-on-1 play while boarding! We politely ask that new clients reserve a “Temperament Test” time slot in advance of their Boarding dates through our website or calling the front desk. This is to ensure we don’t have to turn any Pet Guests away, leaving a client with no time to make other arrangements. If this is not possible, we can sometimes offer same day tests as a courtesy. There is a $20 nightly fee for Daystay Boarding dogs as it includes dedicated Pet Handler time.
Before your Dog’s evaluation or Cat’s boarding, please complete the following Boarding Checklist to ensure you have met all of our requirements, which include: signed forms, pet is current on all required vaccinations & on a monthly flea and tick medication, and have been in good health for the past 14 days.

Boarding comes with complimentary Daycare from 7:00 a.m. to around 6:00 p.m. Dogs may be pulled from Daycare earlier or later depending on how busy Boarding is. This means Daycare is NOT an expensive add-on, like you may encounter at other Pet Hotels. This does not include our Daystay option.
Drop offs and Pick Ups are available 24 hours a day, but outside of lobby hours, 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., is by reservation only.
Checkout is 10:00 a.m. If guests are picked up after 10:00 a.m. and before 3:00 p.m., a Half Day of Daycare will be added to their stay. After 3:00 p.m. and before 7:00 p.m., a Full Day of Daycare will be added to their stay. Pick ups after 7:00 p.m. roll into a new night of Boarding.
Holiday/Peak Period: Prices change during Holiday/Peak Periods. See our Holiday Peak Period page for dates and more information. Lobby is closed on certain Holidays meaning no pick ups or drop offs on those Holidays.
Dog or Cat’s food: We ask that you bring in your dog’s food in a container, bag or individual baggies. This is to keep your dog on its regular diet & avoid an upset stomach. If not, we have Natural Balance kibble available at $3 per meal. We offer 3 feeding times: 6:00 a.m., Noon & 6:00 p.m.
Medications: The Pawington will administer medication up to 3 times per day, free of charge. If more is required, a specialized care fee will apply. Due to safety issues, if your pet’s medication is for seizures or heart issues, we cannot board them and advise you to board at a vet.
Toys, Treats & Bedding: You may bring in your own toys or treats for your dog’s stay. We do NOT allow outside beds or bedding for sanitary reasons. Don’t worry, your pet’s suite comes with complimentary premium orthopedic beds and warm, comfy bedding.

Puppies: Puppies must be 4 months of age or older and current on their vaccinations in order to participate in Daycare or Boarding. Male dogs must be neutered if they are over six (6) months old to participate in Daycare. If they are not, they can still enjoy The Pawington, but they would be placed in our Daystay program, for 1-on-1 play. If females are not spayed, they may participate in group if they are not in heat. If they are in heat, they will be placed into our Day Stay program for the duration of their heat.
Aggressive Dogs: To guarantee the safety of all of our guests, aggressive dogs may not be permitted into Daycare. The Pawington retains the right to place dogs on timeouts or make Daystay for the day or permanently, if they deem that dog to be aggressive to other dogs or the Daycare supervisor.
